Parrris Whittingham Hey Jasmine, I have been afflicted with a similiar "spending bug". Recently a good buddy of mine (who is also in the banking industry), suggested a book called "The Millionaire Next Door". I have been reading it and i must say....it has been instrumental in helping me to realize the downside to "hyper-consumerism". JD is right....and you will want to retire one day. Every buck you save and invest is worth 5 to 10 times as much by the time you are 55. Sheesh....I want to retire at 40.
