A few weeks ago, I had the distinct pleasure of photographing the most amazing couple. They've been married for about a year, but had a photo shoot designed to reflect their love…as it stands. Sabrina and Cody traveled from Canada to California for a bohemian inspired day after shoot. Sure, these photos can be adding to their wedding photos as a document of their love, but I think these photos capture who they are now and how they love.

In my email correspondence with Sabrina, she wrote the following about love: “In our first year as newlyweds I have realized that one key of marriage is simple. Remember each other; most importantly, when it comes to the little things. One of the most wonderful combinations, is living with your best-friend who doesn't give a second thought to a Saturday night in with homemade muffins or hanging out Sunday afternoon, in bed watching Netflix, when there are about 6 loads of laundry to be folded. Those moments together are my favourite because its during those times that you realize all you really need is one another. It's been said that it's the coals of a fire that produce the most heat. When it comes to marriage, those hot coals represent a foundation built on love and laughter, stretchy pants and no makeup… and finding time to kiss your man like its going out of style.”

I couldn't have said it better myself.

“This bohemian day after shoot consisted of a desert land, a sun setting, and a darling couple traipsing about unafraid of the dust on their toes. He wore rolled up chinos with suspenders and she donned a lace high-low dress with side braid and unique headpiece. They wandered around, kite in hand.
I handmade this kite, adorning it with rows of lace and gold dipped feathers to give it the ultimate bohemian feel. The couple flew this kite through their wandering journey and at the end, nestled between trees, we created a lounge of poufs and pillows for this sweet pair to cuddle up on.”

The best thing about Sabrina and Cody is that they're just as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside…love them.

Very typical of their personalities, we ended this boho shoot with a PILLOW FIGHT!!!

…but of course it ended with nothing but love…
