Year in Review : 2015

It's this thing we do, an awful habit we gloriously delight in. So let me invite you in on our pathos: JD and I take behind-the-scenes photos of us working, most of which are horrendous. In fact, the worse we look, the more we dig them. At the end of the year, I share these photos because it gives you insight into how we work, but–more so–the joy we take in sabotaging each other.

If you've joined our journey for a while, you'll know JD is the classy one of our duo. He's always impeccably dressed, smile on his face, and matches his pocket squares to his socks.

I, too, try to be classy and while I can pretend it's something I do well…

…the truth is always about perspective.

And, yes, I'm standing barefoot in the Four Seasons Beverly Hills fountain. Ladies and gentlemen, #CLASSY.

If he's holding a bouquet, he's bound to be photographed…

…but then he'll try to get me back…

…BUT I ALWAYS WIN. Sucker.
(Yes, he's carrying my bag in this photo…what a gem.)

I call this my crouching tiger, hidden photographer pose.

The church lady told me that as the photographer I had to stay in the back of the church…so I asked JD to act like a guest with a fancy camera. Obvs.

Practicing my Hunger Games salute…

I swear, JD, if you take one more photo of these darn boats, I'm going to ask you to sail away on them!

Let's take a moment to look at my hair.

Why would any bride trust me to fix theirs?!

…but that doesn't stop me from pretending I'm a hair stylist…

My services extend to carrying the Dog of Honor to the ceremony…

He's showing them how to walk with a gansta limp…

My husband took fashion tips from the ring bearer…

Nope, nothing here to see…not the bride and groom…keep on walking…

The look of a girl you don't mess with at a photo shoot…

Have you seen anyone more dedicated to keeping a wedding dresses clean?

This is how short girls get aerial shots…

The bride loves me thiiiiiiiiiiiiiis much.

Just the smell of sugar makes him happy…

One word: exhaustion.

This is me using my secret, dark energy to move people out of my frame when I'm shooting reception details. Be afraid, verrrrrrry afraid.

You know that scene in an action movie when the hero walks away from an explosion? This is as close as wedding photographers get to that moment.

Is there anyone happier than me to hold a wedding dress? I think not.

Always the gentleman…

Waiting for the sunset shot…

That moment you talk so much you bore yourself to sleep…

You're getting sleepy, very, very sleeeeeepy…and when you awake, you'll think I'm the best wedding photographer who ever lived! {Telepathic Marketing Tips, you're welcome}

We know you have a fancy camera, but–really–can you just take a photo of us on this point-and-shoot?

That moment when a drunk guy at the wedding reception insists on taking a photo with your camera…

As we approach the end of 2015, I can honestly say it was an incredible year. We are thankful to the world's best clients, amazing creative teams we work with, and people who support our journey. We wake up everyday and realize how blessed we are to do what we love…and are already looking forward to what next year has in store!
