Marina Del Rey Engagement : Meredith+Brian

She didn't really want to be at a bar that night. Against her will, Meredith accompanied friends for drinks at watering hole in Santa Monica. In the crowded room, she spotted one guy whose piercing blue eyes and wide smile made her bold. So bold Meredith made eye-contact a few times, a physical sign that–yes–she was interested. A few days later, they went on their first date.

For two months, Meredith and Brian spent their time enjoy the food, energy, and lifestyle in Los Angeles, but it ended when Brian's job relocated him to Chicago. Much to Meredith's chagrin, they broke up, but whenever Brian was back in LA for business, they met for dinner and their friendship deepened. One night, on a December visit in LA, Brian took Meredith to the restaurant they had their first date and told her he was moving back to Los Angeles. Out of the blue, the love of her life was returning to the West Coast…and she sat in stunned silence. Brian sat across from her and boldly said, You'll have six months to tie up loose ends before I return–and when I do, I want us to be together.

Shortly thereafter, they found themselves slipping back in their LA love story and when Brian proposed, Meredith happily wore a shiny, new diamond ring. They live in Marina Del Rey–just a block from the beach–so they decided to open their neighborhood to me for their engagement photos…

One of the things I love best about coastal cities in LA is how beautiful garage doors can be…beach dwellers love their doors and it proves to be great background for photos!

Meredith chose a Diane Von Furstenberg dress, which I loveloveloved.

The day was particularly windy in Marina Del Rey, but they didn't stop our photos…we simply enjoyed the breeze, took off our shoes, and walked in the warm sand…

Los Angeles home architecture varies greatly, but it also makes for fun backdrops…now we're just missing a lifestyle ball to complete the artistic game of Jacks!

After a quick outfit change at home, we headed to the beach…

Sunset along the coast? Yes, please.

I'll end with this happy photo…Meredith's smile lit up our afternoon together…

Happy Thursday!
