Orange County Engagement : Heather+Tony

Heather is the type of girl who'll take a picture of every detail so she doesn't forget. Like that one time, after an exhausting hiking trip, her friends made her eat at a shady Mexican restaurant and she got food poisoning, resulting in hospitalization. Photo moment! Or a flat tire on a road trip. Photo moment! Or buying new sunglasses. Photo moment! For the past few years, all of Heather's favorite moments have been spent with Tony by her side…who else would take a picture of her attached to a hospital i.v.?!

They met at work though he remained shy and quiet. After a hiking trip with their friends in Arizona, Tony asked Heather a few questions and created small talk. Emboldened by the banter, he IM'd Heather at work and they went on their first date shortly thereafter. Tony showed up right on time (okay, he really showed up early and circled her block for 20 minutes) and quietly listened to a late-running Heather talk nervously and animatedly

A couple years later, on a random Tuesday afternoon, Heather got home from work to find Tony on bended knee with a handwritten speech that melted her heart…and in a crazy turn of events, talkative Heather was at a loss for words. She said yes…and excitedly slipped on her new ring. Photo moment!

Heather and Tony are getting married in Arizona early next year, but we were lucky enough to be able to hang out in Orange County for their engagement session. The day was beautiful and the light worked in our favor…

Many thanks to Carina of Flawless Faces for working on Heather's hair and makeup…

One thing I especially love when a couple has been together for a while is their ability to simply fall into each other…and just be. I didn't have to talk/coach/guide too much for this engagement session because Heather and Tony were simply happy being. Together.

After a quick outfit change, we had a little more fun…and by FUN I mean Heather and I spoke in our own quirky language and Tony simply let us think we're hilarious…

Not only is Tony kind, he's also really smart. Like, he works for a major processor company and can pretty much fix any computer. Boom. And right there, he's a genius in my book.

I'll end this engagement session on this note…it's a portrait, but showcases the simplicity of their beautiful love.
