All Because of You

I walked into the tea house off Rush Street in Chicago, my hair windblown and my nose red from the cold. I scanned the tables and she yelled behind the counter, he's sitting by the fireplace! I smiled at her and raised a gloved hand in appreciation. I walked over to you and you helped me out of my coat and told me to toast my hands by the fire.

You grabbed my hand and we walked to the counter to place our drink order. Before you paid, the girl with the dreadlocks behind the counter said, he waited for you…he told me he'd order when you arrived because a warm drink without you isn't the same…

Oh, JD, right there my heart melted faster than the sugar cube in your mug.

But I shouldn't be surprised because that's just you being you. You invite me on walks…place a glass of water at the side of my bed each night…you adjust bow ties before I request…when I can't decide between herbal tea and hot chocolate, you order me both…and, like always, you wait for me.

Last Saturday we ended our 2014 wedding season on a cold Chicago night and I simply want to thank you…for everything. The business–and who I am–is a direct reflection of you. When I shine, people are really just seeing a mirror image of your love. Thank you for an amazing year.
