love the way we hug. The way we cuddle. The way we wrestle in bed together. The way he licks my lips. The way we lay in each other’s arms. Oh, Internet, I’m in love with my dog. There’s just no other way around the fact that I’m head-over-heels enamored with a bouncing ball of fur.
Just this morning, Polo jumped on my bed and plopped himself on my belly. He pressed his snout against my nose and sighed. Yes, my dog sighs like a human being—his way of letting me know he’s content. Polo did the same thing as JD and I watched CNN last night after the presidential debates. He sighed. As I laid on JD’s lap, Polo wedged himself in between us and said—in his own quiet, doggy way—I’m content, thankyouverymuch...and I think Cooper Anderson is cute! Okay, so maybe that last part was me.
For our recent wedding anniversary, JD gave what might have been the BEST GIFT EVER. Better than a new Louis Vuitton purse. Better than a diamond ring. Better than Frankincense and Myrrh. Better than all that. Combined. He gave me…a…wait.for.it…wait.for.it…a custom stack of Polo Post-It Notes! Eeek! I screamed when I opened the package because, as some of you might know, I have a thing with Post-It Notes.
JD also bought me a custom I Love Polo t-shirt with his face on the front of it. I’d post a picture of it here, but then I’d look like one of those crazy dog owners. And I’m so not that. Pffft. Obviously.
In other photography related news, my favorite Photoshop guru, Dave Cross hosts a "Finish the Sentence" segment on his blog and recently interviewed yours truly. Yes, JD really did outdo himself this time and I'm glad I'm not the only person obsessed with sticky notes! :) You can order your own custom sticky notes here from Vista Print: Click HERE for Stationary Euphoria!
he called Logan in the predawn hours and said she was off for a run. Kori’s hair and makeup appointments were scheduled in the morning, but she wanted to squeeze in a wedding day workout. Well, because that’s just the type of girl she is. Kori is focused, dedicated and—once she sets her mind on something—is relentless until her goal is met. She applies these same qualities with the man she loves and makes their relationship truly remarkable.
This love, however, is not a one-way street because it’s evident how much Logan cares for Kori. Not only does he wear his heart on his sleeve, he wears his soul on his front, left pocket. Logan loves carefully and attentively, showing his adoration in the quietest of ways. He stood patiently until Kori organized her long wedding dress on the small chair during mass. He folded the ceremony program and fanned Kori when the church became quite warm. He made sure to refill Kori’s libations throughout the reception. He delicately held her hand the entire night and danced every song by her side. Logan loves in the ways that matter most: Focused, dedicated, and relentlessly.
It’s no wonder why their perfectly suited for each other…they’re simply the same fabulous forms of each other in another soul.
Kori and Logan…you’ve probably just landed in Italy, but (if I know you well enough) have procured an Internet connection to view these pictures. And this makes me love you THAT MUCH MORE! I think you’re both a slice of perfection and I was honored documenting your day. Your families are amazing and I felt the entire day pulse from everyone’s sheer happiness and joy. It was an amazing day and I can’t thank you enough for inviting JD and me to share it with you. Please enjoy gelato, a margharita pizza, and an espresso for those of us back here in the U.S.…and throw in a few extra coins in the Trevi Fountain for me! Much Love and Appreciation…J*

ife has been, well, crazy. No, no, MORE THAN CRAZY. I've just finished a three day shooting spree, but now I'm back to working, editing, and promising JD I'm going to slow down. One day.
In other happy news, I worked with Paul Rogers, Showit's insane videographer, and he helped me put together a visual response to a Frequently Asked Question. It's the first time trying something like this, so I hope some of you enjoy it...and, if not, blame Paul! :)
love shooting. Pictures, not guns. I love weddings and engagement photos, but when I get the opportunity to shoot a person Just Because, I’m overly excited. It’s a crying shame more people don’t have professional pictures of themselves (and, no, posing for your passport picture doesn’t count!), so whenever I have an Anytime shoot scheduled, I’m excited to see how the day unfolds.
When Brett asked if I could take pictures of him, I jumped at the chance. Most my portfolio is filled with fabulous (and totally gorgeous!) females, but it’s been a while since I’ve shot a gentleman. And, yes, Brett is very much a gentleman. He’s smart, kind, and funny…and the type of guy who follows his heart.
Brett, thank you for such a great afternoon and being such a great model. I totally appreciate the time you took to think about the shoot, the planning, and your openness to hear my opinion about each outfit styling! ;)
When I asked Brett to stand in front of this door, Brett turned to me and asked, Is it PINK?! I hope I still made him look cool...in front of this MAUVE door! :)
Brett is insanely athletic, so he showed off his mad jumping skills...
Happy Friday!

hen I first read her email, I was surprised. Then nervous. Then a wee bit jealous. Laura Nathan contacted me and, after visiting her website, I realized she was a writer. Like A REAL WRITER. A woman who gets PAID to write. Of all the professions in the world, she has the coolest. No, strike that…the second coolest. The churro man at Disneyland has the best job because he sells doughy sticks of sugar at the Happiest Place on Earth, but Laura is—in my humble opinion—close at his heels.
Laura contacted me as she was writing an article about wedding photographer blogs and wanted to ask a few questions. Unbeknownst to me, she interviewed a few other people, one of them being my good friend, Jessica Claire. It was refreshing to see two young, female, Orange County photographers grace the web pages of Photo District News! And though I tried to be jealous of Laura’s ultra fab career as a writer, she was too nice for it to last. She was very kind and, as Laura ended our conversation, I thanked her and wished her the best in her writing endeavors. Then craved a churro.

In other news, the awesome ladies at Southern Weddings Blog featured two of my fabulous clients and their beautiful wedding details. I love SWB for it’s inspiration, aesthetic, and clean designs. I think it’s seriously one of the best blogs for brides to garnish ideas and develop an acute sense of style for their wedding! If you’re getting married, it’s a definite read!
