Sweet Teeth

It’s a common American idiom for a person to attribute one’s affinity for desserts as having a sweet tooth. This is fine and all, but I definitely have what you may call Sweet Teeth. I love all things sugary, gooey, and completely wrong for one’s metabolism. It’s terrible. Unless sabotaging my health suddenly becomes en vogue.

This past week was a filled with two of my favorite sweets. I’m especially fond of them because I was introduced to their awesomeness via my wedding photography work.

I few months ago, I photographed Christina for updated headshots and she sent me an amazing thank you gift. It was so nice of her, but was especially appreciated was a box of sweets I’d never heard of before: Pinko Cookies. They are so hard to describe, but suffice to know it’s a heavenly combination of honey cookie, caramel, and pecan clusters all rolled into one! They’re simply divine. Shortly after blogging a recent wedding that featured Pinko as favors, Jenn—Pinko’s creator and mastermind—sent me a box to enjoy. Thanks, Jenn!

In other sweet news, I was in Santa Monica yesterday and stopped by my favorite bakery, Vanilla Bake Shop to surprise JD with his favorite baby cupcakes and tarts. I met Amy–baker and entrepreneur extraordinaire– at a Soolip event two years ago and I was smitten with her charming personality…and delicious desserts! I’ve worked with Amy for more than a few weddings this year and her cakes and cupcake confections are always perfect! And if you don't believe me, just ask Martha Stewart, as Amy was featured on her TV show! 🙂

So, the next time I see you in person and proffer a pearly smile, you’ll know I have Sweet Teeth. Happy Sunday!
