OC SmugMug Meeting : Netmaking

I'm not gonna fake the funk. I wish I could pretend I sat around pontificating life and terms in way that made me smart. But I don't. I make up words on the fly and then try to rock them. Most of the time it doesn't work, but last night I was greeted with a warm reception to a newly minted word: Netmaking. I gave a presentation for the Orange County SmugMug group and everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. I love this group!

The premise of the presentation was Netmaking, which I defined as: The desire to put one's needs before your own as a way to help, invest, and grow another business. I shared my story and how I started in this wonderful industry…and I hope a few people walked away with a greater desire to find ways to be kind and help others. Reaching around to give, instead of reaching up to grab.

Like always, I'm so lucky to have SmugMug's own Jeff Jochum come out every month to offer his support….

I was a little scared because Becker introduced me last night and he threatened to roast me good. Thankfully, he left things kosher and I didn't melt of embarrassment!

To everyone came out and offered their support…thank you. A whole bunch. I felt so honored and lucky last night!
