Christine and Benjamin : Engagement

They worked in the same building, but on different floors. Benjamin first saw Christine from a distance, and he hoped their paths would cross soon. Little did he realize it would happen sooner than he anticipated.

The elevator doors parted and they stood next to each other for the short ride up. Yes…Yes…No…Yes. Christine’s answers to Ben’s strike-up-a-conversation questions were curt and short. Apparently, she didn’t want to have a conversation, and she made it very clear. When the doors opened to her floor, Christine simply nodded goodbye and left Ben bewildered.

A little while later—undeterred by her lack of enthusiasm—Ben searched the company directory for her email address. He nervously drafted an email and asked her to lunch. Much to Ben’s surprise, Christine said yes. They spent their lunch hour at a nearby Carl’s Jr. laughing, munching on French fries, and furnishing answers to questions with more than one lonely word. At the end of their meal, Christine fingered the toy figurine that accompanied her child’s meal, and passed it over to Ben. It represented more than they could’ve articulated.

The same toy still sits on Ben’s desk today. It serves as a reminder that true love perseveres.

I was so excited to finally meet Christine and Ben for their engagement session! They booked me online for their May wedding at the Mission Inn and we got along SO well! Familiarizing myself on a personal level with all my clients is a top goal, but it was extremely easy to hang out with them…we had a blast shooting in Oak Glen, California!! I’m stoked for their wedding next year! 😉

Christine failed to mention she was a part-time body builder… 😉

After wandering for a bit, Christine and Ben decided to check out more of what Oak Glen is famous for: Apples!
