WPPI : Leather Craftsmen and Shootsac Booth
|

I just walked into the hotel suite a few minutes ago and I'm beat. Like beater than beat. The beatest anyone can ever feel. But I'm also very happy in regard to the outcome of this year's WPPI Conference! More than anything, I got to meet many of my blog readers and fellow photographers...which means so much to me! All of your stories...all of your encouragement...all of your support...made me feel like one of the luckiest girls around! Thank you!!! :)
Today I spent the morning and afternoon on the tradeshow floor, and was blessed to be a part of the Leather Craftsmen and Shootsac Booths. I just ADORE these companies and I firmly believe they make my business more successful. I try to surround myself with people who are far better, kinder, and more knowledgeable than me such are the following vendors.
Leather Craftsmen produce the industry's finest albums, so when they asked to use my images for a sample album, I was more than honored. It was humbling seeing my work displayed adjacent to photographers who I've admired since I first started shooting. It was all surreal.
Here's a picture of me and Ira Gershoff...Leather Craftsmen's Big Kahuna on the West Coast ;) |

| Me and the LC reps...all of whom made me feel very welcomed and appreciated! :) |

| After showcasing albums at Leather Craftsmen, I scurried over to the Shootsac Booth to assist my good friend Jessica Claire promote her AMAZING bag. I know I blab on and on about how much I love my Shootsac, but...really...I do. Being a part of Jess' day made me proud to talk about such a great product and I was stoked to be a part of her day! |

| And, lastly, here's a picture of me and my roomies...Crystal and Allie. They've made my stay here in Las Vegas so lovely...I feel SO blessed to have friends like them!! I've been--literally--spinning like a top and they've helped me stop a take a breath every few minutes. They've been such an encouragement [when I was SO nervous for the engagement session I photographed], support [when I felt intimidated meeting so many new people at once], and aid [when falling asleep was akin to tearing down the Great Wall of China]. Love you girls! |

The Blu Domain Party and A Sneak Peek
|

L ast night I had the pleasure of attending the Blu Domain WPPI Party...and I had a total BLAST! I made many new friends (to those of you who stopped me...thank you...I LOVE meeting new people!) and enjoyed the night with hundreds of photographers.
**Sidenote: ALOT of people have stopped and asked me about the reference I made to the Ferrari a couple days ago...I'm SO sorry, but it was a joke! I thought by claiming I was being given a car worth more than anything I own would display my [lame attempt at] sarcasm, but many of you believed me!! :) I'm flattered many of who think I'm so trustworthy, but also embarrassed with how lame I can be! Sorry to disappoint, but I arrived to the party with a group of friends in a Chrysler minivan. Hot. Way Hotter than a Ferrari.**
Here are some pictures of me in action...for the record, I got bumped from the tournament by ONE DARN CHIP. ONE. |

| Me and Chenin Boutwell... |

| Bob Davis...Julia Woods...Stephen Bebb |

Here's the lucky winner...Stephen...
*for the record, it SHOULD have been me!* ;) |

| I want to thank my good friend, Tim Halberg and his awesome wife Cheryl, for helping me with Blackjack...he stood behind my right shoulder and coached me the entire time!! I just love him! Tim was also the second shooter for my wedding (and shot all the pictures above), so I'll always have a soft-spot for him! :) |

After three hours of sleep, I woke early this morning for an engagement session for Lauri and Mike...a fabulous couple whose wedding I'm shooting this summer in Philadelphia. Of course a complete post will come when I return home, but here's a sneak peek at a picture I thought was cool...afterall, it's the reason we're all here in Vegas! :)
|

**Lauri and Mikey...you're the BEST! You both were rockin' it and looking hot all before the sun showed her bright face on the Las Vegas Strip...thank you for being wonderful and making my morning better than I could have imagined!**
I'll be walking the tradeshow floor most of today, so if you see me, stop and holla back...I'd love to say hi! :) |

To say that my time here in Las Vegas has been whirlwind would be an understatement. It's more like a type four tornado. But I seriously LOVE it!
I arrived yesterday to a totally insane suite where I'm staying with my friends, David Jay, Allie, Crystal, Paul, and Brett. There are multiple rooms and entrances, so it really feels like it's a small home away from home...and a super fun slumber party! Hollllla!
I'm having such a wonderful time so far, so I'd be remiss not to give a shout out to my uber fabulous Thirst Relief Auction Winner, Toni Snell of Australia! Not only is she unbearably sweet, hearing her speak with an accent MADE MY DAY! We met early this afternoon and I honestly can't say enough great things about this girl...I just think she's fantastic! :) Toni paid $800 to spend 90 minutes with me and while I feared not being worth her investment, I'm now totally ecstatic to see how she's going to grow her business! Here's the lovely Toni and I just after our meeting... |

| And to make things even better, when we first met, she gave me this cute kangaroo stuffed animal. She had me at hello. No, no...she had me at G'Day! ;) |

| Whew...I just got home from an awesome wedding and I can't wait to blog the images! Until then, here are my favorite photos of the night, compliments of Cheesy Photo Booths! |

I leave tomorrow for Las Vegas as WPPI's major events begin tomorrow night. I'm bummed leaving JD and Polo, but I loaded my laptop with pictures of them, so I'll be taking a piece of home with me for the next few days.
I hope to stay on top of blogging and email, but if you don't hear from me, you'll know why. Obviously...I won the grand prize of progressive slots and went on a looooong shopping spree. Obviously. |

6,500 Comments and WPPI Update
|

A few weeks ago, my little blog passed the 6,000 comments marker with no fanfare. To be honest, I totally forgot. And I felt badly because I know the feeling of being forgotten.
With many thanks to my mother, I was left stranded in junior high on a Friday night. All the teachers and administrators departed for the weekend, but the school security guard couldn’t leave me alone. So there we stood. With a solid 104 year age gap between us, silence obviously ensued.
Thanks, Mom.
To make up for my transgressions, I’ve decided to start celebrating blog comments randomly. I figured 6,500 comments was a good number, so I’d like to congratulate Tanya Jose of Nymar Imagery for being the lucky recipient of an iTunes Gift Card! Thanks, Tanya, for always leaving a little blog love! :)
Staying true to my love affair with Google Images, I found this gold mine when I typed in: 6,500. Please don’t ask me what they are because I have no idea…but they sure made me smile!
|

In other news, I’ll be leaving for WPPI this weekend. I’d love to meet as many of you as possible, so here are a few places I’ll be:
*Young Guns Presentation on Sunday night…I’ll most likely be the crazy girl in the front row wearing the “David Jay is My Idol” t-shirt. ;)
|

*Blu Domain Party on Monday night…that’ll be Las Vegas’ HOT SPOT! And if I’m not mistaken…being Blu’s Photographer of the Year entitles me to a free car. Yeah, yeah…I heard it was the Ferrari 575. Geesh, Aundrea and her crew are SO generous! ;)
|

*Shootsac Booth 2002 on Wednesday from 11am-12:30pm
|

I’ll be going to seminars as well, so if I’m sitting alone, pull up a chair next to me and let’s chew the fat! I’ll be mentoring for Thirst Relief as well as shooting an engagement session, so my days are going to be a little crazy, but I’d love meet y’all. Stop and say HI! I don’t bite…well at least not normally! ;)
See you soon! |
