The Workshop, Day Of

When JD's mother discovered it was time for her son's first field trip in the second grade, she went all out. The following day, JD went to school looking like a Mervyn's catalogue. Gone bad. A red bowtie, a grey Miami Vice style jacket, a pink shirt, and black church shoes. As JD tapped his way into class that morning, he stood bewildered as to why the other kids were wearing jeans and t-shirts. Running shoes? WHY ARE THEY WEARING RUNNING SHOES?! His teacher pranced him around St. Paul elementary school like a prized reindeer, with the color of his face matching the color of Rudolph's nose.

This story makes me laugh just writing it out. The first time I heard it, I cried from laughing so hard. It's funnier when you hear JD tell the story. I'm crying right now from laughing so hard.

Maybe I'm crying a little from nerves too. Today is The Workshop and I'm blogging. Why? Well…I don't know why. JD is hollering for me to come downstairs so we can leave, but the minute I go down, there's no turning back. I'm nervous, but I'm ready…and I'm hoping for the best!

I, however, can't help the desire to wear a red bowtie. I think it'd just make me feel better.

And because posts are just better with pictures…here's a sneak peek of what's in store for tomorrow!
