The Workshop, March 2009

I kinda feel like I'm about to write a entry in a friend's yearbook. Have a FUN this summer and don't get too crazy at the beach! K.I.T! In all honesty, I feel like I made 20 new friends and have new connections around the United States. A couple days ago, I had the honor of hosting the very first Jasmine Star Workshop and I had a blast! I was pleasantly surprised to meet photographers from California, Texas, Arizona, Florida, Arkansas, Kentucky, Washington, and CANADA…holllla!

To be totally honest, I was a nervous wreck before The Workshop, but with many thanks to JD and my mom, they were able to drag me out of the house in the morning. The day was spent discussing Eight Elements of Branding and had a mid-day shoot to practice lighting and posing…and the best part is that I learned from the attendees…and I *think* they might have learned something from me too! 🙂

Based on the response from The Workshop, I'll be hosting another workshop in the near future, so if you'd like to be the first to know, be sure to sign up for the Jasmine Star newsletter! Here are a few photos from the day, but based on what I've seen thus far, the students' work blows mine out of the water!!

JD helped me plan all the details and was in charge of the food and snacks…and he did such a great job! 🙂

The gorgeous models for the day were Brittany and Zach…I'm stoked to be shooting their wedding later this year with my good friend David Jay!

A humungous thanks must go to the uber fabulous Vivian Tran of All Made Up!!! She's an amazing makeup and hair artist and she just works magic with her mad skills! If there's a bride looking for a makeup/hair team, call Vivian…she's awesome!! 🙂

With manymanymany THANKS to my backbone, my here's-a-glass-of-water, and my YOU CAN DO IT husband, for the following pictures…

Yes. Yes, I know I look angry in this photo…but I'm totally not. I, apparently, talk with the passion of a defense attorney and the face of Cruela Deville…

My FAVORITE photo of the day! Words can't express how much I love this group. I couldn't have dreamed of a better crew of people to start with and I'm indebted to their support, faith, and kindness. Hollllla!
