Holly and Jared : Engagement

They met in college. Two souls wandering Greek Row of the University of Southern California campus, who happened to slip into each other's paths. They'd dance together at Jared's fraternity parties, and laugh together over late-night dinners in Los Angeles. Then they fell in love. As simple and seamless as that. Jared and Holly wandered from Greek Row to San Diego shortly after graduation and built their lives together in the bustling city.

Holly wanted to slip away from the fast-paced life and relax with Jared for their engagement photos. The sun shone brightly over fields of overgrown grass, and the nuzzled together in the shade of a nearby tree. He'd whisper, she'd laugh. He'd prop, she'd twirl. He'd lean over and kiss the soft parts of her shoulder, and she'd sit contently soaking in the love.

Holly and Jared make each other better, and I'm incredibly honored to shoot their wedding this August at El Cortez in San Diego. They are simply amazing and I know their day is going to be fabulous! Here are a few of photos from their engagement session…

Holly and Jared booked me over the phone. Holly followed my blog before she was engaged, so when Jared popped the question, Holly gave me a call. Their engagement session was the first time we met in person and I couldn't think more highly of them…yay for blogging! 🙂

A special thanks goes to Nicole DeAnne for a wonderful job with hair and makeup!

I know it's a little premature, but aren't they going to have some good looking babies?! 😉

Rawr. How I wish the good Lord blessed me with legs like Holly's!

At the start of the engagement session, Holly sincerely apologized for being unphotogenic. I rolled my eyes and told her all my clients said the same thing. It's true Holly insisted, even my mom agrees! After hearing her firm belief in her ill-fated photo experiences, I told her I wanted to prove her wrong. Because, really, every girl is photogenic…I just have to bring it out of her. Because of this, I wrote a note:
Dear Holly and Holly's Mom: You're wrong. Love, Jasmine* 😉
