Shannon and Matt : Engagement

Her sister takes all the credit. If it wasn't for her, Shannon and Matt wouldn't have met. Shannon attributes it to fate. Okay, and perhaps her sister can take a little credit.

Shannon's sister's boyfriend was relaxing in a Hermosa Beach bar on a gorgeous southern California day. From a distance, Matt recognized him. From childhood. From a small town thousands of miles away. What are the odds?! The two guys caught up over cold beer, so when Matt was asked if a friend could join them, he happily obliged.

Then Shannon happened. Little did Matt realize that his friend's girlfriend's sister was gorgeous, charming, and fun.

She walked into the bar and Matt's life changed. From that instant, they clicked. The spent hours together…then days…then months…then a year. On their one year anniversary, Matt planned a special trip to get away for the weekend. They exchanged gifts and though Shannon's gift to Matt was thoughtful and special (cufflinks made of metal from his favorite baseball stadium), he showed her up by getting on one knee and giving her a diamond.

I'm beyond thrilled to be working with Shannon and Matt for their wedding this July…it's going to be fun, fun, fun! They're two of the most carefree and joyful people to be around and if their engagement session was any indication of how great their wedding will be, I suspect there will be an over-abundance of love, libations, and laughter! I shot their engagement session last week in Manhattan Beach and here are a few of my favorites…

I'm so blessed with the most amazing clients. Ever. When Shannon and Matt arrived, I told them I scoped out the surrounding area for locations to shoot. I told them I found a parking garage with great light, they were all, AWESOME! Yup…they're pretty much perfect for me.

Shannon…really? Are you really this fabulous?!? Special thanks goes to Christine Colucci from Makeup Mafia for a wonderful job with hair and makeup!

A very special thank you must go to Amy of Vanilla Bake Shop for sending Shannon my way. They're best friends and I'm truly thankful I get to hang out with them together! I also made Amy and Shannon promise me they wouldn't be upset if I stood by Amy's DELCIOUS cupcakes all night and had my way with them! 🙂

Who says a construction site ain't glamourous?!

After an outfit change, we finished the engagement session along Manhattan Beach and had a little fun!
