Brittany and Blake : Engagement

It was her freshman year at Azusa Pacific University and she acclimated the best way any 18-year-old away from home could. Brittany made friends and connected with girls from her dorm. Heather, the Resident Advisor for Brittany’s dorm, made sure everyone bonded by planning events and hosting parties. It was at these events where Brittany met Blake, Heather’s younger and uncooler brother. Blake was a senior in high school and though he tagged along at the parties—with the female to male ratio definitely in his favor—Brittany wasn’t interested. At all.

Blake was usually the center of attention, humorously serenaded the residents with his guitar, and wore his heart on his sleeve. But Brittany wasn’t interested. At all.

The following year, Blake joined Heather and Brittany at APU and though they passed each other on campus…and though Blake considered her one of the nicest and prettiest girls on campus…and though it appeared he matured over the summer, Brittany wasn’t interested. Blake was still the high school senior strumming his guitar in her eyes.

The following year, after Blake spent his summer in Sri Lanka, gained 20 pounds, and sprouted serious facial hair, Brittany saw Blake for who he really was: the center of attention, humorous, and wore his heart on his sleeve. And she fell in love.

I had such a nice time shooting Brittany and Blake’s engagement session a couple days ago at the Irvine Spectrum! We feared getting kicked out because of the strict photography policy, but we steered clear of the cops and had a blast! I’m looking forward to their wedding this November and can’t wait to see what they have in store!

One thing I love about Blake and Brittany is their fondness of laughter…they have such a way of making each other smile!

Brittany looks feroche in this picture…I can't wait to see her in her wedding dress! In this picture, we found a large poster covering a door and–call me lame–I just loved the polka dots!

Hey, Blake, this one's for you! 🙂
