The Workshop, August 2009

So…here I am. And I'm ready to write this post. Kinda. It feels peculiar talking about The Workshop without sounding totally inflatuary (I just made up that word…it's something like inflating, only better). Yesterday I hosted a photography workshop in Orange County and to say I loved it would be an understatement. I lurrrrved it! The group was fabulous and to be surrounded by such amazing people just blew my mind. The group planned a dinner the night before The Workshop, so I joined them in Laguna Beach and got to know everyone even better. By the time Tuesday rolled around, everyone was homies and egos were checked at the door.

Yesterday I spoke about the Eight Components of Branding and conducted a shoot to demonstrate how I shoot (three cheers for redundancy!). The shoot is to primarily talk about lighting, posing, and capturing signature images for your brand and while I did most of the shooting and talking, I know everyone walked away with rockin' images…I've seen sneak peeks and they're awesome!

Here are a few shots from the day….with many thanks to my husband extraordinaire. I can't thank him (and my gorgeous mom) for helping me put together the day…without them, I'm nothing. And a special gracias to Nathan Holritz of Photographer's Edit for sponsoring our delicious lunch! 🙂

I was beyond thrilled to be working with Vern and Melinda again…I shot their engagement session and year and a half ago, but to hang out with them again MADE MY DAY! 🙂

To say they're fabulous would be an understatement. Fo real.

I ADOOORE Melinda's Monique Lhuillier dress…

Okay, so I look angry…but I'm not. I'm PASSIONATE! 😉

I heart Vern's mad style…

Melinda was made up extra beautiful with help from the AH-MAZ-ZING Vivian Tran of All Made Up Team. I know I say this every time, but Vivian helps me take The Workshop to a whole new level. She's incredibly talented and I couldn't rave more about her!

Ohhhhhkay. Let's chat about this bouquet. LOVE it! The tres chic Carissa of JL Events and Design created a vintage inspired bouquet and it was perfect! Com'on…purple eggplant…blueberries…plum leaves….augh…perfection! 🙂

I seriously could've shot Melinda all day…she's gorgeous inside and out…and definitely brought her ferocheness and flair!

Rawr.

My favorite photo of the day! Look at all these beautiful faces….they're just the best! Evah. I'm stoked to see what the future holds for the attendees, but I'm confidant they'll all change the industry in their special way. To my new friends and colleagues…I could never buy you enough Pizookies to prove my love for you, but I hope you walked away knowing I care for your businesses, but–moreso–you. Much Love and Appreciation….J* (p.s. I may never forgive any of you not telling me my hair looked like I walked off a 1980s Hallmark commercial…thanks a bunch!) 🙂
