creativeLive : Course Member Clarification

I sorta, kinda guessed it would happen, but I definitely didn't think it would feel like this. Lemme back up for a sec. Ever since posting the attendee videos for the creativeLIVE contest, I've received quite a few emails and read a few blogs questioning the decision that was made. And before I go on any further, please know that choosing the attendees was a joint decision and more than one person weighed in on the matter. But, yes, I can see why people would be disappointed with me.

This was an incredibly hard decision — and it wasn't about picking the “best” videos or “winning” a spot for the class. We tried to pick a mix of people who we felt would best represent our worldwide audience as a whole. These people will be our audience's proxy in the class, and we needed a mix of men and woman, of experienced and less experienced photographers, and a range of backgrounds. Please, please, please, don't feel that if you weren't picked for this list of six that somehow your video wasn't good enough.

And because I want to keep things open, here are just a few videos that emailers have stated were the ‘best'…and to see the rest, you can find them here

Yes…and yes. These videos are AWESOME. Seriously, my mind was blown by their creative talent and desire. And, trust me, they were up at the top of the list, too! 🙂

If I've disappointed you, I'm sorry. I honestly wish I could have given away 60 seats to the creativeLIVE course, but, alas, it was only six. For those who submitted videos, thank you from the bottom of my heart and if our paths cross in the future, I'll make JD buy you a Pellegrino with a twist of lime! 😉
