Happy Labor Day

So, it would be a really big crane. Big enough to carry me from my bed to a jacuzzi…and then from the jacuzzi to the massaging pedicure chair. This is what I muttered to JD as we laid sprawled in bed this morning. To the untrained eye, we looked like beached orcas—each unable to move any part of our bodies but our blinking eyes—and spoke about how life would be better if we didn’t have to leave our bed. At all.

We photographed two beautiful weddings this weekend and while my heart almost burst a few times of sheer happiness and joy, the aftereffects of being on my feet for two days straight has taken its toll. I feel like I got hit by a bus. Twice.

Today is Labor Day and I can’t express how stoked I am to spend the day relaxing, preferably doing something that requires no physical movement. At all. Now, if I could just figure out how to get that crane to lift me outta my bed and into that pedicure chair, life would be perfect!

Here's a few shots of us in action over the past week…when I snapped this picture of JD, I immediately started laughing uncontrollably. His stance, his little belly, his Shootsac, the black cat. Everything about this image made my fall more in love with him! 🙂

This is a shot from Saturday's wedding, which I hope to have blogged this week…

Okay, so it's just what we do. Just before the evening sky gets too dark to shoot flashless, we dutifully pull out our strobes and get them ready. At yesterday's wedding, we took test shots without our flash…and these images serve as a reminder of just how blessed I am. My husband, my camera, and Malibu on a Sunday afternoon. Life is sweet.

Happy Labor Day!
