Assurance.

I just saw my sister in the hotel lobby. She's a Mrs now and looks positively radiant, like a pair of white gloves on Easter Sunday. Many have asked who photographed the wedding, especially in light of a post when I was trying to figure out what to do. Bianca wanted me both as her wedding photographer and maid of honor…yes, my sister is high maintenance! 😉

Bianca explained she wanted me to document her day because I knew her better than anyone else. And she's right.

Of course, this led to a whole new set of challenges. Oh, like, shooting in four-inch heels, determining if I can carry a bouquet and camera at the same time, and knowing my own limitations. Lucky for us, we decided to add a third shooter to the wedding day and Stephanie Fay pulled through for us like a true champion. More on that later.

So. How I do feel? Right now? The wedding is over and the pictures are backed up. How do I feel? A total mix of emotions, if I was being honest, but right at the top of the heap is assurance. I know I was suppose to photograph my sister's wedding. Yes, there were moments of oh-my-god-run-in-your-heels-like-a-wilderbeast, but at the end of the day, I'm happy knowing the day was captured intimately. And the best part is that my sister is happy too. I couldn't ask for more.

The above photo was captured by JD. It's the moment right after the First Kiss. My father is in the upper left corner, I'm in the lower left, and my mom is in the lower right corner. And my sister is happy.
