One of my favorite posts to blog is our Year in Review…not only does it showcase the unglamorous side of wedding photography, it reminds me how lucky I am do it. Sure being a photographer on a wedding day is filled with stress, unexpected turns, and dodging invitations to dance with drunk uncle Jack on the dance floor, but it's also one of the best careers. Ever.
I'm inordinately blessed to work with my husband (although judging by the unflattering photos we take of each other you'd think we were enemies) and we've found a way to navigate life with parallel career paths. I suppose we're rather lucky to have found someone who's just as cool and unafraid to showcase this coolness. Obviously.
I mean, let's get real…a man who climbs a fence with a diffuser? SO COOL.
Sometimes I think I'm so cool I just can't stop talking…and then grooms are all like, I'M UP TO HERE WITH HER JOKES the minute I turn around…
JD sometimes likes to show off his photo skills by helping people understand their disposable cameras…
Sometimes I'm really good at telling inappropriate jokes…
…and then other times I have bad breath.
The look on this lady's face clearly means JD is doing it ALL WRONG!
Sometimes JD looks for compliments from the harshest critics…
Sometimes my clients try to get away from me, but I stand in front of their car and give them a look that says GO AHEAD AND TRY TO ESCAPE…
If you're short, wedding photography is a great calf workout.
I tell JD that if he can perfectly adjust the wedding dress in a single try, we can make out at the end of the night…
