UCLA Engagement Photos : Tami+Amit

He shook his head and denied interest. No, no, he was definitely not interested in Tami when he met her at a party for a mutual friend. Tami gives Amit a long sideways glance and he relents, saying Okay, so yes I was interested but I wasn't going to do anything because I thought she was dating someone else. Tami explains she texted Amit a few days after they met and invited him to play tennis. It was also then when she clarified she was single, which Amit claims was a green light to pick up his racquet…and charm.

Once they went out, they knew they were destined to be together, regardless of where life took them. At the time, Amit played tennis for UCLA (where he was named All-American) and took his team to the playoffs. Tami traveled to the championship games and cheered Amit from the stands, pushing him to pursue his dreams. Upon graduation, it was Amit's turn to push Tami towards hers.

Tami earned acceptance to medical school in Massachusetts and it was there he surprised her with a weekend visit from California. After a difficult test on Friday afternoon, Amit invited her to go skydiving (a first for them both) and by the time Tami landed, Amit waited on one knee. This May they plan to marry at Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel surrounded by their friends and family.

There was no better place to start their engagement session than at UCLA, on the tennis courts no less. Amit walked with Tami hand-in-hand and spoke kindly with his former coaches and colleagues and together they looked right at home.

After roaming the UCLA campus, we headed to Santa Monica beach to catch the last of sunset…and amazing light…

I'm particularly excited to work with this couple because they were recommended by way from Erin and Angela of Sterling Social…they plan weddings that are stunningly beautiful and fun, so I can't wait for what's in store…

One of my favorite things about this shoot was watching the way Amit tenderly kissed Tami. It was like each kiss was private memory, just for her.

I love Santa Monica…it may be just me, but beach sunsets in Los Angeles are gloriously pink and orange and awesome.

Many thanks to Kenzy Michelle for doing such a lovely job with Tami's hair and makeup…

I'll end on this note because we had just a few minutes to catch sunset, but it was perfect because we were able to use the pier to set the ending tone of such a fun engagement session…

Happy Wednesday!
