OC Photo Summit

I love the internet. Like, love it the way I love Nutella. A lot. Outside of the obvious way it's changed the way humans interact, shop, connect, play, it's changed the way we learn. Over the years, it's democratized education and provided a plethora of resources. I casually joke I graduated from the University of Google…with a degree in photography. During my first two years of business, most of what I learned was because a kind soul shared it freely and posted it online.

In the same vein, when free education and personal attention combine, it's like a unicorn opportunity of learning. You could just imagine my delight when I was asked to take part of such an event. The OC Photo Summit is an awesome way to meet fellow photographers, listen to keynote presentations, partake in photo shoots (with gear on loan from one of the event's sponsors, Canon, if needed), and spend a day submerged in learning. And all of this is free.

I delivered the keynote presentation to 2,000 photographers and it was an honor to talk about my journey, as well as chat about my experiences marketing and branding my photography studio. The energy in the room was palpable and it was powerful to stand in a room with people who were equally as passionate about photography as I.

Happy Thursday!
