Marin County Engagement Session : Shana+Joe

She decided to grab dinner along one of her favorite places along Lincoln Avenue, a pizza place she knew she'd enjoy a good conversation with the bartender. About a slice into her meal, Joe sat next to her at the bar and asked what she ordered. Shana curtly answered and went back to her meal. Joe continued to ask questions and Shana couldn't figure out if he was interested in her or merely interested in the merits of a good Italian meal.

When Shana waved the bartender for her tab, he told her Joe paid for it. Surprised, Shana thanked Joe and he asked if she'd like to join him for dessert. No, thanks, I'm headed to my favorite candy shop around the corner, she responded and then invited him to join her for the walk. Over chocolate covered gummy bears, they chatted and when Joe invited her for a cup of coffee, she readily agreed.

They spent hours together that night, which morphed into days together in the following weeks, which later became months…and they're planning to spend eternity together as husband and wife. I was honored to document their love at home in Marin County, Califorinia and can't wait for their wedding in Lake Tahoe!

The session started with Joe's 1968 Ford Mustang, his beloved car he received when he was 19 years old and has since worked on making it shine and purr. I personally think Shana is the car's best accessory! 😉

One of the best things I like about Joe is his ability to be quickly perceptive and insightful, yet totally relaxed at the same time. I think Shana brings out his brightest qualities!

We roamed the property of Joe's childhood home, a special place to Shana and Joe. It's a stunning Victorian home in Marin County, California and every room caused me to ooh and ahh, but the porch ended up being my favorite place because of its peace and serenity…

The gardens proved to make a gorgeous background for engagement photos…

We opted for an impromptu happy hour, which was fully approved (and endorsed) by me…

Shana, you're beautiful. Really.

Shana's favorite location on property is the greenhouse. When she told me she hoped to use a photo from the engagement session as their Save The Date, I knew immediately this spot would make for a perfect choice…

I loved spending the day in Northern California and meeting Shana and Joe for the first time. It felt like we were old friends and I can't wait to spend more time with such a lovely and kind couple!
