The story changes depending on who you ask. Like most love stories, there's a His and Hers version. Kevin claims to have played with Michelle at his grandma's house when they were kids, and even attended the same Sunday School together at church. Michelle can't seem to place Kevin any time before high school. It was during their senior year when they attended a retreat with mutual friends from church that he definitely crossed her mind.

Regardless when they met, they can both agree Kevin had great hair in high school. It coifed in all the right places and Michelle admits it played to his favor, especially considering this was during the boy band craze of the early 2000s. Kevin went out of his way to reintroduce himself to Michelle at the retreat, complete with a firm handshake (a detail Michelle still finds funny because, really, who shook hands in high school like a business deal was on the line?!).

They went to college, graduated, and remained friends while their lives twisted in different directions. Eight years later, Kevin asked Michelle if she'd attend a Christmas party with him. Michelle thought she was going as a friend, Kevin thought she was going as his girlfriend. Chalk it up to positive thinking, but that night marked a change in their relationship. Kevin swept Michelle off her feet and they've been in love ever since.

I met Michelle and Kevin in Downtown Los Angeles for their engagement session…they both love the city, so the urban vibe was perfectly suited for their personalities…Michelle came to the session looking gorgeous and feeling fierce…

…just kidding…they're more fun than fierce!

The light was fantastic during the shoot…and this couple could even make graffiti look good!

I'm particularly excited for Kevin and Michelle's wedding since it'll be at The Loft on Pine (a super cool and funky venue) with the amazing Carly Rae Design leading the charge…should be a perfect day!
