Los Angeles Wedding Inspiration

As a creative, there are moments when I'm given the opportunity to photograph something that peels back the layers of my eyes…and heart. The ever-amazing wedding dress designer Katie May commissioned me to photograph one of her favorite dresses, the Verona. She assembled an incredibly talented team of wedding professionals to produce a shoot at the gorgeous Alexandria Ballroom in Los Angeles.

I'm incredibly honored to have this shoot featured on 100 Layer Cake. Many thanks to the following creative team for making it come to life…

The shoot stylist, Samantha Farris of Details, Details, described the shoot as, Moody, Romantic, and Lavish… The 3 simple words that drove this styled shoot into becoming what it is. It was the perfect juxtaposition of modern and old world. There was no picture that we saw nor theme that we wanted to replicate. Our ultimate inspiration was simply to create something unique and different for not only brides, but vendors, designers, and everybody in between to become enthralled with what has been created. Our incredible team of vendors brainstormed together, each throwing in different elements they thought would be a good fit, and it came together seamlessly.

Our floral designer, Shawna Yamamoto and her team made a custom mirrored tabletop with a gold and silver rubbed edge that was placed on top of acrylic stands, which made the illusion of a floating table. For this setting we focused on lush florals, delicate details, and modern features such as acrylic, mirrored elements, and pops of gold.
