Orange County Engagement Photos : Breanne+Mike

It was a new job, but when Breanne breezed through the front doors, she was ready. Breanne sat at the front desk and started a new phase in her life, but little did she know the changes she was about to encounter were far bigger than she imagined. Breanne's friend worked at the same company and introduced Breanne to her co-workers, but there was a guy who stood out.

It could've been Mike's height, or his casual smile, but the thing Breanne remembers most was Mike's willingness to to help. Whenever she had a question, Mike would answer. He found himself needing more items from the front desk than before, and rerouting his path to ensure he passed her line of sight a few times a day.

Coworkers noticed Mike's newfound interest in the girl sitting at the front desk, but they didn't know that he had asked her out and she accepted. Mike asked Breanne to join him to see a Celtics basketball game and there, amongst his friends and cold beers, she realized they might be more than just friendly coworkers.

Within a few months of her walking through the front door of her job, Breanne walked straight into Mike's heart. They're planning a wedding later this year, so they spent the afternoon together for their engagement session in Orange County, under a sky of clouds and beautiful light.

The engagement session started at a local park, a place filled with overgrown trees, dirt paths, and lots of private places to enjoy a casual stroll…

The day was overcast and gray, but every so often, the sun peeked through the clouds and shined down on this amazing couple…

After a quick outfit change, Breanne and Mike took time to enjoy the view…of the park, and each other.

Many thanks to Carina Lindgren of Flawless Faces for doing such an amazing job on Breanne's hair and makeup…what a babe!

I casually joke during an engagement session that a personal goal is for me to capture a “desk photo” for the couple. You know, a photo you might keep on your desk of your soul mate…yes, it's a traditional portrait, but looking up from your work to see the person you love makes any day brighter.
Breanne and Mike, I hope you like your desk photos! 😉

For just a few minutes, the sun broke through the clouds just before dipping along the horizon…and it made the engagement session all kinds of magical…

The best thing about Mike is his ability to make Breanne laugh at a moment's notice…

I'll end of this note because it captures, truly, everything I love about being an Orange County photographer…beautiful light, empty fields, and a beautiful couple in love…
