Kasey and Nick : Wedding

She rolls her eyes and tries to hide a smile when she talks about their childhood together. Kasey remembers Nick in a time others really want to forget: Junior High School. Nick was the first boy in their entire eighth grade class to mature—complete with facial hair and a deep voice—so girls swooned, and the guys envied. And somewhere in the shadow of his swaggered footsteps, Kasey awkwardly followed. As she recounts this story, her petite hand covers her embarrassed smile, I was kinda dorky…

As life usually works, the self-proclaimed dorky girl blossomed into a beautiful lady while in high school. Kasey and Nick passed each other in the halls, but never really spoke. Friends of friends. That’s what they were until fate brought them back into each other’s lives. After attending separate colleges in California, Kasey moved to New York City to work for couture designer, Zac Posen and Nick returned to Seattle. While on vacation, Kasey returned home to Seattle and to find no one else than Nick nestled comfortably in her childhood living room. Facial hair Nick.

Nick and Aaron—Kasey’s brother—had become best friends, having grown up together on Mercer Island. However, Kasey confidently conducted her demeanor because she was no longer the 13-year-old girl of yesteryear…she was now a four-inch stiletto wearing, perfect smile, blond bombshell. And Nick was left to walk in her swaggered shadow.

Just a month and half later, they were in love. They no longer walked in shadows of each other, but side-by-side. And on the rare occasion when the sun shines in Seattle, a new shadow is formed; a dark blob of two people holding each other as they walk. Three legs, two heads, one body. One heart.

Kasey and Nick…I am so incredibly thankful. Thankful to call you friends, thankful to have visited the gorgeous city you call home, thankful to have documented to your gorgeous wedding. Your friends and family are nothing short of amazing and spending three days with everyone was more delightful than I could have ever imagined. I wish you joy, happiness, and flagrant love as you navigate life together! Much Love and Appreciation…J*

I adored Kasey's fabulous Monique Lhuillier wedding dress…

There's SO much that went into this First Look. I was incredibly happy when Kasey opted to see Nick before the wedding ceremony, but the entire morning was filled with rain. Lots and lots of rain. I'm not kidding you…I pressed my forehead against a window and almost cried. More than anything, I wanted Kasey to be happy. There was no way she was going to have the outdoor wedding she dreamed of, but I prayed she wouldn't have to give up on seeing her husband on the beautiful greens of the Carnation Farm. Thankfully, the skies parted for about 30 minutes…

I don't know what it is, but this series of pictures makes my heart happy…

I need to take a minute to thank Lisa Chambers of Chambers and Company for her AWESOME dedication and hard work for this event. Lisa and her amazing crew worked tirelessly to ensure the day was perfect…and it truly was! Lisa, you rock my world! 🙂

Kasey told me she wanted a classic, organic, and chic vibe for her reception…and she definitely wanted to get married on a farm. Something tells me Kasey always gets what she wants! 😉
