Kirstie and Josiah : Wedding

A
few years ago, they met at a wedding. She was a bridesmaid, and he was a groomsman. They sat next to each other at dinner, but shared nothing more than a few brief sentences. At the end of a long evening, their cars serendipitously pulled up to the same red light, and Josiah rolled down his window and made the first move. Awkwardly, shyly. The light turned green and Kirstie drove away, not knowing at the time she was moving in the opposite direction of her future husband.

Patience and tenacity paid off because Kirstie accepted Josiah’s offer to go on a date after a rapid succession of text messages. Over the course of a couple years, their roots became intertwined and they fell in love. Kirstie, much to everyone’s surprise, trumped Josiah’s love for Notre Dame and he cared for her in a way no one had seen before. Late night phone calls muffled from his brother’s ears, lovestruck nicknames, and caring devotion proved to everyone that Josiah was head-over-heels in love. And Kirstie responded with flowing adoration and a signature look given only to Josiah. A look her father-in-law claims to say: I believe in you.

The wedding day didn't celebrate two lives as much as it celebrated two lives becoming one and forming a beautiful soul. Kirstie and Josiah are incredible people, but when joined are a fabulous tour de force and a reflection of God's love.

Kirstie and Josiah…I don’t think I’ve ever—ever—felt more welcomed into a home, wedding day, and lives than with you. Your families reached out and made JD and me feel like old friends and your friends laughed alongside us as the bright day faded into evening. Thank you for blessing us with your trust and faith in our ability to document your intimate day…we loved every minute of it! Hope you’re having fun in Maui…be sure to kiss under a waterfall for me! ;) Much Love and Appreciation…J*

Kirstie chose a unique Nicole Miller wedding dress...and does anyone remember where that Save the Date sign is from? ;)

Nicole Miller bridal shoes...

Kirstie's first view of her makeup (thanks to Meg Slottje!)

Kirstie's mother, Joy, found antique earrings and they were so beautiful...and totally completed the feel and look Kirstie wanted...

Kirstie and Josiah opted for a First Look at Bowers Museum and it was nothing short of amazing! I love when clients see each other before the wedding ceremony because it allows for plenty of time for pictures and nothing compares to the moments when a bride and groom see each other for the first time, sharing such an special moment alone, and together...

JD caught this one from a distance...

I adored Kirstie's bouquet and floral accoutrements...I just love the whole feel and look of them! A special thanks goes to Amanda Claverie of Rosebud Floral Design for her awesome work...

I loooove this portrait JD captured...

While I was off taking pictures of Josiah, JD captured this picture of Kirstie relaxing with her bouquet...

One of things I love most of Kirstie is that she--and her amazing family and friends--pulled together for a Do It Yourself wedding reception. This can be a daunting task, but Kirstie knew what she wanted and created a lovely environment with acute attention to details...here's one of three refreshment stations...

Amongst a Kiddie Zone, lounge area with paper lanterns and overstuffed pillows, Kirstie had a candy bar for her guests...

The wedding programs, napkins, and water bottles all bore the couple's signature logo for guests to enjoy...

Making the night even better, Foto Cabina was on hand to provide a wedding photobooth...I just LOVE these personal touches!

Toasts given by the Best Man and the Maid of Honor...

Nothing beats a Grand Exit filled with sparklers! :)
