Hummingbird Nest Ranch : Wedding : Laura+Carlos

She sat in the sun at a circular table with a salad. And a side of fruit. Her glass of water made rainbow reflections on the table from sun's gaze overhead. Laura smile and waved from a distance, oozing contentment and peace, simply ready to embark on her wedding day. The cuffs of her oversized shirt were rolled up, as if she'd been working all morning, and it made her wrists look particularly delicate when she waved.

Laura moved with grace as she had last-minute makeup touches and eased into her dress. She scurried along because, really, all she wanted to do was see Carlos. Their day had finally arrived. After meeting each other at her father's Italian restaurant, their lives had finally brought them to the very moment when they'd start a new chapter as husband and wife. When Carlos and Laura saw each other for the first time on their wedding day at Hummingbird Nest Ranch, Laura cried. Big, soft tears. She apologized for being emotional, but Carlos didn't have to say a word. He was already dabbing her eyes with tissue.

Laura and Carlos, thank you for inviting to to document your wedding day. I heavily suspect your day was the mere start to amazing and incredible things in your lives. I wish you nothing but the best and I hope you're enjoying your honeymoon. Much love and appreciation… j*

One of the best things about shooting at Hummingbird Nest Ranch is that there's onsite rental properties for the bridal party to prepare and lots of great light to shoot details…oh, like…SHOES….

I mean, com'on, isn't Laura a dream?!

Laura's Fleur De Liz bouquet…

Both shots are JD's…Laura and Carlos opted to see each other before the ceremony for a First Look and their moments together were completely beautiful…

Then we had some time for some fun wedding pictures…

The Hummingbird Nest Ranch property is humungous…I could seriously a wedding here every weekend and not run out of places to shoot…loved it

I love working with JD…we've been together for so long now our brains think alike…his photo is on the right…

After the wedding ceremony, we snuck away for a few more wedding pictures to capture the softer light…

Jason with Garner Films was on hand for video and he took the couple to shoot for a bit, so I hung back and caught this moment…it's nice being a second shooter sometimes! 😉

A big shout out must go to Events by Heather Ham for coordinating a perfect day…in spite of the raging heat and the crazy wind, Heather kept the wedding day right on track and organized. I love working with coordinators who understand the ebb and flow of a wedding as it frees me to focus on what I love best: photography.

The light in the Valley during the First Dance was beyond gorgeous…the entire day was epically hot and sunny, but once the sun set behind the canyon, the night sky was beautiful…

I'll end this post with JD's shot of the First Dance…because it shows their love perfectly…
